The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, has completed a three-day retreat aimed at improving the professional and operational capacity of its senior officers.
The retreat, which ran from 17 to 19 August 2026, took place at the Corps Training Academy in Ilaro, Ogun State.
The programme was organised under the theme “Upholding Integrity and Professionalism in Security and Safety”, according to a statement issued by the corps through its Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
The retreat focused on the responsibilities of senior officers, operational coordination, intelligence gathering, relationships with security agencies and official stakeholders, and the professional conduct expected of personnel.Other sessions covered techniques for carrying out duties as senior officers, leadership and personnel development, administration and health.
Why the training matters
State Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Cmdr (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, said the retreat was intended to reinforce the organisation's core values among senior personnel.
He said: “the retreat is of utmost importance for the agency as officers are meant to be reminded its core value.”Ganzallo also stressed that the training was designed to have an effect beyond the officers who attended it.
“This exercise was specifically for senior officer and it is expected that when they get to their respective commands, they will transfer the knowledge down the chain of command.”
The approach means the success of the programme will depend partly on whether the participating officers apply and share what they learnt when they return to their respective commands.
